Among the different kinds of restorations besides Full Cast, PFM crowns and bridges have the longest history of use. PFM’s are composed of a metal framework in which porcelain is fused in a high temperature oven to give it the cosmetic appearance of natural teeth. The underlying metal fused with the porcelain provides stability and strength to the crown. We carefully design each coping and framework to provide precise fit, high strength and complete marginal seal.
Benefits of Porcelain Fused to Metal:
Porcelain Labial Margin (Ceramic Margin) is a popular technique to improve esthetics in the margin area. If the gingiva recedes, use of porcelain margin will eliminate any appearance of chalky or metallic substance at the gingival margins of the restoration.
PFM Alloy Options:
All alloys are manufactured in the U.S.A. IdentAlloy Certificate sticker is provided for all restorations in which Noble and High Noble alloys are used. There may be a very slight variation in percentage of alloy composition depending on manufacturer change.
